Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before renting any of our equipment. By using our services, you agree to the following terms.
1. General Information
- Smile Swim offers rental services for water sports equipment, including stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), inflatable rings, boats, unicorn floats, and accessories.
- These terms apply to all rentals made through our website, booking form, WhatsApp, or in person.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to rent equipment.
- Minors must be supervised by an adult at all times while using rented equipment.
3. Booking and Payment
- Bookings can be made online via our booking form, via WhatsApp, or on-site, subject to availability.
- Full payment must be made at pickup unless otherwise agreed.
- We accept TWINT and cash on-site. We do not currently accept credit cards.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
- Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your booking time.
- No refunds for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the rental period.
- In case of adverse weather or unsafe water conditions, Smile Swim reserves the right to cancel or reschedule bookings. Full refunds will be offered in such cases.
5. Safety and Equipment Use
- Use equipment responsibly and in accordance with local laws and safety guidelines.
- Life jackets are strongly recommended, especially for children and non-swimmers. Available to rent for CHF 15/day.
- Do not use equipment in strong currents, storms, or adverse conditions.
- Do not use equipment under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Any damage or loss of equipment will be charged to the renter.
6. Liability
- By renting our equipment, you acknowledge that water sports involve inherent risks.
- Smile Swim, its owners, and staff shall not be held liable for any injuries, accidents, or damages to persons or property arising from the use or misuse of rented equipment.
- Renters assume full responsibility for their actions and safety while using the equipment.
7. Damage, Loss, or Non-Return
- The renter is fully responsible for all equipment during the rental period.
- Any damage beyond normal wear and tear will be assessed and billed to the renter.
- If equipment is lost, stolen, or not returned, the renter agrees to pay the full replacement cost.
- Smile Swim may issue an invoice or pursue legal action in the event of non-payment.
8. Late Returns and Fees
- Equipment must be returned by the agreed time stated at booking.
- Late returns may incur an additional fee of CHF 10 per hour, or part thereof, unless otherwise agreed in advance.
- If a late return causes disruption to another booking, Smile Swim reserves the right to charge for the full additional booking period.
9. Swiss Law Compliance
- Renters are responsible for understanding and complying with local laws and regulations applicable to watercraft use in Switzerland, including SUP usage on lakes and rivers.
- Smile Swim does not assume responsibility for fines or penalties incurred by customers during use.
10. Equipment Use Guidelines
- Use equipment only in suitable water conditions. Avoid strong currents, storms, or busy boating areas.
- Do not allow others to use the rented equipment unless approved by Smile Swim.
- Do not use a leash on rivers — it can get caught on obstacles.
11. Customer Responsibilities
- Inspect equipment before use and report any damage or malfunction immediately.
- Use all equipment with care and respect for others, nature, and local residents.
- Return equipment clean and in the condition it was received. A cleaning fee of CHF 10 may apply if equipment is returned excessively dirty.
12. Privacy
- We respect your privacy and handle your personal information according to our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to Terms
- Smile Swim reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website and take effect immediately upon publication.
